This Magic Mike movie is really started to gain some steam as today we learn that geek hearthrob and internet sensation Olivia Munn has joined the cast of Channing Tatum’s and Steven Soderbergh’s Magic Mike.

The actress will portray Amber, the love interest of Channing Tatum’s title character. The story centers on Alex Pettyfer’s character, a male stripper who is mentored on and off the stage by Magic Mike. The project is loosely based on Channing Tatum’s days as a 19-year-old male stripper in Tampa. Olivia Munn is only the second female to join the cast, alongside Riley Keough, who plays Alex Pettyfer’s girlfriend.

Matthew Bomer and Joe Manganiello also play male strippers, while Matthew McConaughey portrays the strip club owner and Gabriel Iglesias plays the club DJ.

I had no idea that the exploits of a younger Tatum would assemble such an appealing cast. Seriously, I joked about this movie in the past but I’m beginning to sing a new tune as the movie is attracting a variety of talent to board the production and take center stage along Magic Mike. I guess I might have to keep closer, but safe distance, eye on this one…

Maybe it’s me but I get the feeling that there are people in Hollywood trying really hard to make her a star. The problem is I have no idea why. Personally I have yet to be amazed by her talent and looks.

You would have to see her back in her humble beginnings as one of the tv show hosts of Attack of the Show. I’m glad she finally blossomed a bit, she has that awesomely humorous personality
