One more look at Brave

Another image popped up for Pixar’s next best picture nominee and it finally reveals the face of the red head with the bow, as well as an official synopsis.

Via: Collider

The film features Kelly Macdonald as the voice of Merida, a skilled archer and the daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Wise Woman (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late.

The synopsis sounds like something out of a classic Disney movie and I can’t wait to see what Disney and Pixar have in store for this one. There are very few things that Pixar can do to miss my attention and using a red head with a horse with a head that massive will ensure that things stay this way.

  1. I wish Pixar or Disney would remake The Black Cauldron, or do the entire Prydain Chronicles. It’s such a great children’s book and lends itself easily to animation/CG.

    1. +1 (actually, +1,000,000) to this. I’ve loved these books my entire life, and so wish they’d do them right. Somebody get a stack of ’em to Pixar!

  2. Nor do i :)
Tangled (Rapunzel) although made my parenthouse disney (not pixar itself). They have pixar influence all over it.
Also pixar hasn’t venture into this type of story yet (princess warrior on middle kingdom adventuring against all odds etc). So as it is pixar btw, my hopes is always up.
