Russell Crowe wanted as Jor-El

STOP EVERYTHING! Just stop and read! It’s been mighty quiet on the Superman front with most news in recent weeks being dominated by this summers’ super hero offerings and the expected fervor surrounding the Dark Knight Rises production, but that all changes today as I think we were just hit by a bomb shell.

Whether paying homage to Marlon Brando’s cameo in “Superman” or just wanting splashy marquee name, Christopher Nolan had all along been seeking an A-list thesp for Jor-El, Superman’s biological father, since agreeing to godfather the franchise reboot “Man of Steel” for Warner Bros.

He’s got his man, and it’s Russell Crowe.

there have been discussions that Chris Nolan had been looking for a huge A-list name to take on the coveted role, and who better than the best actor alive today? Awesome casting news and has appropriately sent all “radar’s” in site into a frenzy. Production begins next month so hopefully we’ll find out about Superman’s Biological mom pretty soon too.

Really? Best actor alive today? He’s good, but I wouldn’t go that far. That being said, I can dig Crowe as Jor-El.

If he’s not the best, he’s in the discussion. And I will say this for Snyder’s Superman…they are swinging for the fences with every bit of casting. Now if the script is garbage it wont matter, but Im holding out hope that this will end up being the Superman film alot of people have been waiting for…

  3. Lawrence says:

This could work. Russell Crowe looks the part.. although people best remember him as the rugged guy in Gladiator.

This news is nothing short of awesome.
Now all we need is Cate Blanchett and we’re set.
