Watch ‘The Hangover 2’ trailer

If you’ve seen any of my previous posts on this movie then you might know that I think that this was the funniest movie of the year. I thought it the movie was fun, funny, and resolved itself in the end without really leaving the door open for sequels… but then the movie made a lot of money so a sequel is coming.

It looks kinda funny, but not as funny. My expectations are going to be lowered as reality is sinking in and I really don’t think this sequel will have the same polarizing effect as the original. I wasn’t really thrilled with the appearance of Ken Jeong as it’s giving me the impression that this movie is going to try to just do “more of the same”. Bummer.

  1. I rewatched the trailer and was hit with a realization. While this does look remarkably similar to the first, I have 3 words for you that might give you all some hope: Evil Dead 2. Evil Dead 2 was essentially a remake of the first and yet some people consider it to be better, so who knows, we might be in for that here.

Also, while the premise is similar (the guys wake up with no recollection of the previous night and once again have to find someone they lost) there are distinctions: for example, it looks in the trailer like they have no idea how they even got to the place where they woke up, not to mention Alan’s shaved head, Stu’s tattoo and the monkey. so it will be interesting to see how all this stuff came about again, and the movie does look funny!

    1. Due date had some funny bits ( masterbation scene! )
But neve in a thousand years would I think that RDJ would come off as stale as he did in that one. wheeew! (I know his character was straight forward but he lost his charisma or never brought it with this one)

      just sayin’

      this looks fun though

  2. I was one of those that thought part 1 was waaaay overrated, on second viewing I enjoyed a bit more. the funniest part of part 1 were the polaroids at the end credits (Carrot top doing blow!)

BUT this seems funnier and yes while its the same idea (if it aint broke dont fix it) the locale change has better comedic possibilities IMO.

but to me ,Ken Jeong wore out his welcome in the 1st movie.

  3. it looks good, but i have a feeling they are set up by the groom from the last movie, he’s like pranking them for what happen to him in las vegas..

  4. I was pretty much going along for the ride while watching the trailer until like Anthony said Ken Jeong showed up. When he popped up on screen I realized they are just putting every character or thing that was funny in the first movie in the second. And isn’t that Mike Tyson’s tatoo on the guy’s face? This movie didn’t need a sequel if they are going to use the same plot (trace our steps backwards detective comedy) over again. What’s the likely hood of the same thing happening twice. Only in hollywood.
