Yelchin to play Odd Thomas

Stephen Sommers (“The Mummy” “GI Joe”) is about to direct the adaptation of Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz about a teenager who sees dead people and has a particular moral set, and apparently, it will star Anton Yelchin in the lead.

Empire reports:

He’s already Kyle Reese and Pavel Chekov, but now Anton Yelchin is adding Odd Thomas to his list of franchise roles. He’ll star in the first of what all concerned are hoping will be a series of adaptations based on Dean Koontz’s oddball horror series.

These books are getting really huge right now, and Yelchin keeps choosing rather iconic rolls (Chekov, Kyle Reese, Charlie in Fright Night). Personally, I love Yelchin, and this seems like great casting.
