Elton John is working on making a movie about his life. Yep. Some people would probably have a hard time deciding who would portray themselves in a feature film but Elton John is one step ahead of the curve and has admitted that he has a choice in mind and that choice is none other than Justin Timberlake.

John discussed the project during a recent interview with The LA Times (via The Hollywood Reporter), in which he confirmed that the biopic is “very much in the works” with a (as yet unnamed) director signed on and a script by Billy Elliot scribe Lee Hall. Once the script is “exactly the way we want it,” John said, “then we’ll start trying to cast and plan.” But the fact that casting is still a few steps off isn’t stopping John from naming exactly whom he’d like to see in the film’s biggest role. “I’ve got a wish list of people,” he told the publication. “No. 1 on my wish list is Justin Timberlake, because he played me before in a David LaChapelle video of “Rocket Man” and was superb.”
I’ll give the man credit, that’s a fine casting choice. I haven’t liked J.T. in all of his films, but I have to admit that the kid has some chops. Justin Timberlake has one of the better musicians to transition into acting but has been hit or miss for me thus far. I never bothered to watch ‘Alpha Dog’ due to his participation, skipped over the Love Guru cus it looked awful all on its own, but he did get my attention with his performances in Southland Tales and The Social Network. This seems like one of those films that the casting could be right up his alley and present a better performance from the budding actor as he really needs to make a stronger effort with his film selection.
