The World’s End – Teaser trailer

Universal Pictures UK has put up the first teaser trailer of The World’s End. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s directed by Edgar Wright and stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. It is also the last film for the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy (yes, that’s a real thing), the first film being Shaun of the Dead (2004), the second Hot Fuzz (2007) and now this film scheduled for a July 19, 2013 release in the UK and an August 23, 2012 in the US.

The concept is simple, 12 pubs, 5 friends, 60 pints. Five childhood friends attempted the legendary pub crawl in their youth, but failed at their attempt. Twenty years later, the friends reunite, returning to their hometown to once again attempt to reach the fabled pub “The World’s End”. However over the course of the night, they begin to realize the struggle to finish the pub crawl isn’t as it seems and in fact their fight may very well be for humanity’s as well.

There really isn’t much else to say other than watch the teaser trailer! I’m looking forward to this film myself, for anyone else feeling the same – sound off below!

Official movie description:

In The World’s End, 20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King (Simon Pegg), a 40-year-old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub – The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realise the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.
