The guy is a wack job, and not sure "mental illness" can account for it if you take everything into a account - not just a few racist diatribes. Normally what happens in an actors personal life doesn't mean squat with me. With Mel it's been a bit different for some reason - I don't buy that he's a prescription away from being a well adjusted guy. That said, yes I do miss "the old" Mel. Gibson fits the role and I was glad he's back. I agree, some things are over the top, but that's fine by me.
