The Weinstein Company has set Jonah Hill to play a role in Django Unchained, which is in production…
…Hill was eyed for the role early on, but had to turn it down because his schedule was so busy. He’s back in another role.
Django Unchained has had a tumultuous development with casting issues littered throughout production beginning first with Kevin Costner dropping out, then Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and followed by Kurt Russell and Sacha Baron Cohen. Jonah Hill is the latest addition to the film which is well in production and the Quentin Tarantino movieis expected to open in theaters this Christmas. The role he’s taking has yet to be revealed but I wonder if the role might be the minor comedic appearance originally intended for Sacha Baron Cohen. This is an interesting development and I can’t wait to see where things go from here…
