During Christmas time there is almost nothing as nostalgic for me as watching Kevin McCallister booby-trap his way through a couple of small-time crooks, and in the Big Apple no less.  Although I don't think the sequel quite reaches the magic of the original film, as youth during that time, one couldn't help but too indulge themselves in fantasies of being that mischievous kid in a big city.  Also, genius marketing move they made with the Talkboy, essentially just a revamped tape recorder.  I still remember getting that voice recorder for Christmas.
