New Pacific Rim photo shows the troops

Surprisingly we’re getting more imagery from this Pacific Rim film. This movie is still a year away and the teases we’ve gotten thus far really have been enough to whet our appetites but more morsels seem to pop up every other day. Today is the day we get a new image and, if I’m not mistaken, a synopsis.

 

 

In Pacific Rim, legions of monstrous creatures known as Kaiju started rising from the sea and begin a war that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. 

 

So the alien threats are Kaiju, eh? The Robots are the Jaegers? Two pilots and a neural bridge?! This throws out a lot of my Evangelion references with the dual pilots. Interesting. Very very interesting.

This is a silly power ranger movie gone to the dark side.  Modern human weapons would decimate any legion of 200 story high monsters.  And I'm not talking about nuclear here.  Conventional weapons like smart bombs and other high yield explosives will rip any Kaiju or legion of kaiju to shreds.
