Riddick 3 Promises an R rating, So Diesel says

Writer director David Twohy and actor Vin Diesel promise that the next Riddick film will be like the first film- an R rated action romp.
Crave Onlinegives us:

Updating their fans on Vin Diesel’s Facebook page with a recent video post, Diesel answered some questions along with Twohy (who also wrote The Fugitive, and wrote and directed The Arrival and The Perfect Getaway) about how hardcore the film will be, particularly in comparison to the lackluster PG-13 sequel The Chronicles of Riddick,

I actually didn’t think Chronicles was a bad film, and I don’t quite understand the reasoning that an R rating would have helped that film (or help the next planned one) Was it a step down from Pitch Black? Maybe just a tad. I liked Alexa Davalos in Chronicles, thought Nick Chinlund was entertaining in an over the top way. and hey, the Kill You With The Tea Cup line is gold. The main difference between the two films is Pitch Black was serious fun and the other silly fun with great production design. The creature FX however, was a step down.

It seems they are closer to doing this, and I would not mind a third film, R rated or not. I think if Universal can convince Vin for doing more Fast films, they can sign him up for another go-round as Riddick, But Vin also needs other pictures sometime.
