Poster: Red Dawn

— Posted by The Amazing Anthony

A new poster for Red Dawn has made it online for us to enjoy. What? You forgot that there was a Red Dawn remake coming out starring Chris “Thor’ Hemsworth, Josh Peck, Josh Hutcherson, Adrianne Palicki, Isabel Lucas, Connor Cruise and Jeffrey Dean Morgan? All can be forgiven as this poster is a nice reminder that the film is coming locked and loaded.

It’s not a bad poster but be that as it may it’s not a great poster either. It’s on the “simple” side and gives the impression that the designer could have put this together during a lunch break. It’s a little TOO simple. I do want to acknowledge the marketing team since they have  the cojones to portray a group of youngsters waving  assault rifles while standing next to the American flag, during Olympic time, right after a infamous incident regarding guns in America is… I don’t know what it is but even my crass mind took notice of the fact that it’s unexpected for this sort of imagery to be released in light of the Aurora shooting. Am I over thinking this? possibly. And the truth of the matter is that if Hollywood doesn’t push passed the incident then they’ll be stuck tip toeing around the issue for quite a long time. I just think it’s a little ballsy.

As for the film itself it seems interesting enough and has a fun premise and the world is ready for the remake. I’m ready to see the trailer so we can see what’s in store for us.
