Trailer: Jack Reacher

— Posted by The "Superior" Anthony

The new trailer for the next Tom Cruise movie is finally here for all of our ocular ingestion. Who is Jack Reacher and why shoudl criminal fear him? Let’s let the trailer do the talking and our fingers do the critique.

Ok, he’s a low blow abuser. A MEAN low blow abuser. You guys know my motto: “I’m not reading the book until after I see the movie” and with that said I don’t understand what the appeal is for this one. He’s the Punisher. Why is he special? Sell me guys, sell me.

The books are quite good, but I really can’t see them as a movie, and especially Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher, who is supposed to be a huge guy (like 6’5″), who doesn’t want to be violent but unfortunately his line of work requires it every now and then.

I know NOTHING about this movie or the book but without knowing about the source material in any way I can’t buy Tom Cruise in this role AT ALL. He’s too pretty for a vigilante cop movie and his voice is just all kinds of wrong in that voice over. It sounded too high and slightly nasal. Watch the trailer again and when he starts that “you think I’m a hero…” voice over part close your eyes and REALLY picture what the guy looks like that has that voice. I saw it as an angry accountant or IT guy. Not on my radar at all from this trailer.

Well, I can’t sell you. I’m thinking the same thing. However, I like the violence & arm breaking stuff.

"I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you."
