Trailer: Mel Gibson in ‘Get the Gringo’ a.k.a. How I Spent My Summer Vacation

— Posted by The Amazing Anthony

Remember that look at the first still released for the new Mel Gibson action/comedy film called How I Spent My Summer Vacation? I do and have been cautiously optimistic about the quality and potential for the film. Today we get a clear look at what tone and shape the film will take.

I want to say a lot about Mel Gibson the person. This isn’t the place for that. Instead just looking at this trailer I have to admit that this looks like a lot of fun. It has that right mix of dark humor sprinkled with grisly action that made Mel Gibson a star in the 90’s. I can certainly see a lot of potential for this movie, but it’s questionable at best.

Get the Gringo hits VOD on May 1st, followed by a DVD/blu-ray rollout before the end of the year. Yep. Video on Demand, not theaters.

do they know what “PUTO” means? as a mexican living in Mexico, i think the movie is missing some sombreros and tequila drinking donkeys.
