Trailer: The Bourne Legacy

— Posted by Ryan

Finally there is a new trailer out for The Bourne Legacy. This trailer is a lot more action packed than the previous and there seems to be more surrounding Jason Bourne than I thought there would be. Take a look and tell us what you think.

It looks like there is the normal amount of Bourne action and there may be a lot more revealed about the covert project. I like Jeremy Renner but it is going to be hard for me to accept a Bourne movie without Matt Damon. From what I gathered from the trailer, it seems like they are going to water down Matt Damon’s character and make Jeremy Renner an impromptu super soldier. Renner has some big shoes to fill because Damon was a powerhouse as Jason Bourne, only time will tell if Renner can live up to the Bourne name.

First and foremost, Ryan Brown is a fan. He has been an avid fan of both the theater and cinema since an early age and his passion for both has been continually growing ever since. When dissecting a film, he focuses on all elements of film-making including some fan/cult factors. He believes that character development is the foundation of a good film and usually starts his analysis of a film from there moving forward. His writing style may be influenced by his background of narrative and argumentative studies in the subject, but he tends to enjoy a more conversational style to better interact with the readers, unlike some other pretentious and pompous writers.

  1. The trailer did nothing for me.  And the part about Renner’s character having had modifications to two of his chromosomes just seems really hokey.  Bourne worked for me because it was grounded in realism (i.e., Bourne was special because of training and brainwashing).  I hope they leave the genetic mutation/alteration storylines for the superhero franchises.
