Evangeline Lilly goes Elven in this new still from The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug

— Posted by Ryan

We’ve known that Evangeline Lilly (LOST, The Hurt Locker) was going to be in The Desolation of Smaug and now we finally get to see her in her Elven form. She will play Tauriel who is the bodyguard of the Elven King Thranduil. In addition to the image above, take a look at Peter Jackson’s video below where he addresses questions from the fans as well as some surprise guests.

The part with Stephen Colbert had me laughing while he surprisingly raised some very intricately detailed questions for many of the fans. While there are many familiar settings in The Hobbit, it looks like we may see some totally new areas in the sequel. And while some of you hardcore fans may know that there are different types of Elves in the story, that is something I did not know. I doubt we’ll be hearing about any sort of reference to Legolas or Galadriel from these Elves.

First and foremost, Ryan Brown is a fan. He has been an avid fan of both the theater and cinema since an early age and his passion for both has been continually growing ever since. When dissecting a film, he focuses on all elements of film-making including some fan/cult factors. He believes that character development is the foundation of a good film and usually starts his analysis of a film from there moving forward. His writing style may be influenced by his background of narrative and argumentative studies in the subject, but he tends to enjoy a more conversational style to better interact with the readers, unlike some other pretentious and pompous writers.

"I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you."
