It has arrived: Thor The Dark World trailer

— Posted by The Amazing Anthony

Holy shit this trailer looks sweet. Alan Taylor is a newcomer to directing feature films, and I had some curiosity about his transition from television, but everything I’ve seen in this trailer looks exactly as I would hope. There’s more Idris Elba (!), more Natalie Portman looking hot and slappin people silly, and there’s just this sense of wonder throughout the trailer that reminds you that this is Marvel’s more ‘enchanted’ genre of films. I loved both minutes of it and officially declare that Thor: the dark world WILL be the comic book movie to watch this year.

Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself.  In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness.  Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.
