Over Your Dead Body: Takashi Miike’s new trailer freaked the hell outta me

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not all that familiar with all of Miike’s work. I know he’s a respected film maker but I can’t recall ever seeing any of his films. I watched this trailer with an open mind to get an idea of one of his movies with the comfort of having a clean bill of slate from not seeing any of his other work and I have to admit… this shit is fuckin weird.

No idea what the f is going on and yet somehow it still managed to leave me down right disturbed. I’m still not sure if this is something I should be endeavoring to watch but I will give the man credit for making something that had such dense atmosphere. I was immediately sucked in and now that I’ve been released it’s questionable if I want to go back for seconds.

What is with the crying baby? For some reason I only feel 1 of 2 affects from crying children: annoyance or fear. Clearly I have issues that need further examination but this trailer makes me wonder if it’s me or the director. Are you a Miike fan? How does something like this rate compared to his previous work?

I’m confused and don’t want to be alone right now. Kudos to Miike. Sad for me. That’s all for now.
