You know what grinds my gears? Good actors in bad movies. Yes, I said bad movies. No, I have not seen the movie, nor have I talked to any of the cast members or crew. I have not even looked at the script. But, you know this is going to be a bad film. Out the gate, they reveal there’s an unspeakable crime that happened or is still happening. And, the only way to to solve this mystery is to somehow retrieve information out of the suspect’s mind. This consequently tells us, the viewer: “hey, don’t be surprised when you discover one of the main characters are crazy and it was all in their head”, etc. Advice to Ethan Hawke and Emma Watson, you guys are some of the best talent in Hollywood, right now. Please, do not take it for granted. It only takes one bad film for people to turn against you.
