I love me a good spy movie. I’ve been all jacked up for Spectre that I started binge watching Legends on Netflix. I came across this trailer and noticed Sacha Baron Cohen in the credits which immediately gave me pause. Why is there a spy move with a comedian? I abhor spy movies with comedians not named Austin Powers. Why would they make this?
This gave me all the bad impressions that I think litter the world of spoof. I don’t watch Melissa McCarthy movies, ever, so I have I can’t reference SPY to determine if they’re on an decline or incline. Has spoof gotten this bad? Granted, we only see Cohen for one scene but if that gag is the best they can offer than experience has taught me that it’s also the best they can do.
