What I learned from the Jurassic World Superbowl commercial

Jurassic_World

Jurassic World was one of the few commercials aired during the Superbowl that wasn’t a complete and utter disappointment in the eyes of anyone in the world who looks forward to Superbowl commercials (Seriously tho, WTF). No, this was a diamond in the rough that stood out and actually did its job as a Superbowl commercial. I noticed a few things that I probably neglected in previous trailers that helped me really get a sense of how this film will differentiate itself from previous films:

1. That Raptors have been tamed. Not only do they follow instruction from Chris Pratt’s “Owen” but there’s that one scene in the latter end of the trailer implying that he actually enlists their help in taking down their man-made dinosaur. Interesting.

2. The park is everything Jim Hammond envisioned and more. This isn’t just an amusement park, it’s a resort comparable to a Disney World. There are moments where you see safari like excursions by the visitors to the park but even more than what was teased in the original film.

3. The original trilogy is receiving a few homage scenes. The sight of the raptors running, as well as the scene with the two young children preparing for an attack by a giant dinosaur through the glass ceiling is spot on. Add in a kitchen scene and they’ll have done it all.

I like this spot and this is easily one of my most anticipated films of the year. Let me know what you think of the spot in the comments. That’s all for now…
