For the horror genre, vampire movies are definitely this year’s “torture porn.” Variety has reported that another film has been added to the seemingly endless list of vampire movies. However, this is probably the vamp film with the most eclectic cast.
Variety gives us these details:
Vinnie Jones, Michael Matthias, Michael Madsen, DMX and Armand Assante are set to star in “The Bleeding,” a horror actioner from Indifferent Entertainment.
Story centers on an ex-Army Ranger searching for the killer of his parents who discovers a family of vampires in a former chemical weapons factory-turned-nightclub.
I absolutely love vampire movies and even though half of this cast is probably enough to make most fan boys drool, this sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. I don’t know why, but it just has “Straight to DVD” written all over it. Maybe it’s the casting of DMX that has me a little weary, but honestly, this just sounds like a project that should have Steven Seagal in it.
I’m going to have to see some stills and a trailer before I can be optimistic about ‘The Bleeding.’
What about you guys? Are you psyched to Vinnie Jones and Michael Madsen together in a horror film?

Now I figured that the lucky actor set to play Tintin in the upcoming trilogy based off the popular books would probably be a surprising choice and boy, was I right. It has been reported that 17 year old Thomas Sangster (from ‘Nanny Mcphee’ and ‘Love Actually’ fame) has been cast as the famous Tintin.
Comingsoon.net gives us this news:
17-year-old Thomas Sangster (Nanny McPhee, Love Actually) has been cast to play comic book hero Tintin in the trilogy of performance capture films to be directed by Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson, according to the Daily Mail.
Sangster, from South London, has already been to Los Angeles to work on pre-production test sequences with both directors.
He’ll be joining Andy Serkis, who has been cast as Tintin’s sidekick Captain Haddock.
So am I the only person who is thinking this casting decision is a little strange? I mean, I love that Andy Serkis has been cast as Captain Haddock, but why is this kid going to be playing Tintin?! I used to read Tintin comics all the time, and I’m PRETTY sure that Tintin was a little older! ( I actually would have preferred seeing Simon Pegg as Tintin)
However, there’s got to be a good reason for Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson to be supporting this choice, so I’m not going to get all bitchy just because of the obvious age difference between the actor and the character.
I’m a little irked, but that’s okay. What are your thoughts, Tintin fans? Do you think Thomas Sangster has what it takes to play Tintin?

Now I wasn’t a huge ‘G.I. Joe’ fan was I was little, (I was more of a ‘ Jems and The Holograms’ kind of girl.) but I have to admit the new pictures that Paramount has released of Ray Park in his ‘Snake Eyes’ costume for the upcoming ‘G.I. Joe’ movie has definitely intrigued me.
Comingsoon.net gives us these pics:

So for all those people that think ‘G.I Joe’ is going to be a major disappointment, should at least feel a little optimistic about the upcoming Stephen Sommers film.
So do these pictures do the Snake Eyes justice?

Well as you may already know, the format war is over! I bet there are a lot of you jaded people out there that are pissed that you spent tons of money on HD Dvds and the atrociously priced HD player, only for the software to be discontinued. Well, Best Buy is offering you guys a reward…..sort of.
Engadget.com gives us this news:
In this case, anyone who bought an HD DVD player from Best Buy before February 23, 2008 can request a complimentary $50 gift card for each player. For those too traumatized to even look at their discontinued hardware and software, Best Buy also announced it’s adding HD DVD players and media to its Trade-In Center program, starting March 21. No word on how much a player can net you, but once it’s updated, check BestBuyTradeIn.com to get an estimate and decide how much holding onto the past is worth.
Wow, this reminds me of the days of the Betamax/VHS war. I remember my parents were furious when the Beta player got discontinued. It’s nice that Best Buy is offering a free complimentary card, however, if I had an HD DVD player, I think I would wait for the the Trade-In Center. Fifty bucks is better than nothing, however, it’s probably about 1/20th of the cost of the player itself.
This is why I never bothered to get a Blu-ray/HD player. I remember when the DVD player first came out and it was a thousand dollars. Also, the DVDS were about 40 dollars each. Now, you can easily get DVDS and DVD players for under 20 bucks. Patience is a virtue and I suggest if you don’t have a fancy sound system or big screen TV to enjoy the full experience, just wait a year or two. (But that’s just my advice!)
So, are there any of guys who have felt the wrath of Blu-ray/HD format war? Tell us what you think of news!

Last week, I posted up the link to the very frightening full length trailer (even though the teaser is more creepy) for ‘The Strangers’ starring Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman. Well now we have more images to show that are guaranteed to send a chill up your spine. Yahoo!Movies have posted up new stills from upcoming horror film. Take a look!

Wow…these pictures are f*cking creepy. There’s no other way to describe them. I have been waiting for this film to come out since last summer and I can’t wait until this movie comes out this May 30th. Hopefully by that time I will get over my fear of home invasion thrillers. (Watching both versions of ‘Funny Games’ in a week has definitely traumatized me!)

I really dig Steve Zahn! He’s an actor who although is known for his comedic slapstick humor, has shown a lot of versatility through the years in dramatic roles. Now he has another non comedy to add to his filmography. The actor has just signed on to star in the thriller, ‘The Perfect Gateway,‘ which is to be directed by David Twohy. (Director of ‘Pitch Black.’)
Moviehole.net gives us these details:
Zahn joins the previously announced Timothy Olyphant in “The Perfect Getaway”, which revolves around two newlyweds on their honeymoon in Hawaii who run into two hikers who turn out to be vicious killers.
Zahn is part of the honeymooning couple; Olyphant is one of the killers.
Steve Zahn and Timothy Olyphant together in a thriller? I am so there! Honestly, this sounds like ‘Kalifornia’ meets ‘The Hitcher,’ which to me sounds like an amazing premise already. Timothy Olyphant has proven that he can play a convincing bad guy in his previous roles, (’Scream 2,’ ‘Die Hard 4′, and ‘Go’ just to name a few) and Steve Zahn has proven he can play scared sh*tless roles from his performance in 2001’s ‘Joy Ride.’
The film goes into production at the end of the month in Puerto Rico and Hawaii, and I am looking forward to hearing more news about this thriller.
News Chat, Reviews - by Serena - March 18, 2008 - 09:42 America/Montreal - 17 Comments
On the site, I have made it known on numerous occasions that home invasion thrillers scare the living hell out of me. Every time I have commented on how films like Ils and A l’interieur and If I Die Before I Wake are by far the most disturbing films of its subgenre, I always had people ask, “But have you seen Funny Games?” I had never seen the 1997 Austrian horror film directed by Michael Haneke, but after hearing he had directed a controversial shot by shot remake for North American audiences, I had to check it out.
So last week, I watched the film and all I can say was that I was in utter shock that this film was being remade (shot by shot nonetheless) and knew I had to take someone who hadn’t heard of this movie to see the remake. So, I decided to take my date to the theatres to witness the wrath of Michael Haneke. Since he considers Quentin Tarantino films as art house pictures, I knew he was the perfect candidate (a.k.a sucker) to bring along with me. So did my date appreciate Funny Games or did he run away screaming for the hills? Read on to find out!
General Idea: Funny Games is about a happy couple (played by Naomi Watts and Tim Roth) and their child Georgie who get held hostage by two young psychopaths. (Played by Michael Pitt and Brady Corbet) Throughout the night, they are tortured with sadistic games and are pushed to the limits to survive past 9 am the next morning. (The killers bet them they won’t live past that time.)
The Good: Unlike Gus Van Sant’s Psycho remake, Funny Games is a shot by shot remake done right. In fact, it made sense that Michael Haneke decided to film the movie again for North American audiences, because he knew of the subtitle phobia a lot of audiences have. By remaking this film, he turned his obscure 1997 film that had a mild success in the film festival circuit into the Lambada of American Cinema.
This movie pushes the limit and goes past what North American audiences are used to from horror films. You can tell the director thrives on this, for he takes his time setting up the movie to play out like a standard thriller and then gladly hits his viewers hard with the unsuspecting horror that awaits them. He knows that the viewers are used to the predictable conventions of mainstream horror films and he punishes them greatly for it. There are no tense chase sequences accompanied by a ‘Marco Beltrami’ score. There are no choreographed showdowns that leave the protagonist as the victor. More importantly, none of the characters go out with ‘at least they went out fighting’ bang. If they go out with a bang, it’s from the deafening noise of a shotgun, met with the cries of their loved ones.
Where as most home invasion thrillers focus on what humans are capable of doing to protect themselves and their family, Funny Games focuses on the realism of being stuck in a surrealistic situation, and to me that is far more frightening.
One thing both version of Funny Games both are criticized and praised for is the director’s bold choice of breaking down the “fourth wall” by having the film’s main villain, Paul communicate with the audience. Unlike anyone else in the movie, Paul is fully aware he is in a film, and he uses this to his full advantage. Once Paul starts interacting with you, you will feel extremely uncomfortable and will most likely wish you could physically beat the fourth wall down, and jump into the screen and beat the living crap out of him. This to me was a crucial part of the viewing experience, for it made me aware that this film was not just about torturing the helpless family members, but it was also about torturing the helpless audience. (Or should I say…voyeurs?)
The fact that I had already seen the original film, I thought since I knew what to expect, it was going to make for an easier watch. (Boy, was I wrong!) Surprisingly, the remake was even harder to watch, because now I was watching the violence being done to very recognizable and talented actors. Although, I have never been a fan of Michael “indie prince” Pitt, (I still can’t get ‘The Dreamers’ out of my head!) I thought he did a fantastic job as the main antagonist. His portrayal of Paul sent chills down my spine and made me feel very uneasy. Tim Roth and Brady Corbet also did serviceable jobs in their respective roles as the injured husband and the sidekick henchman; however, it was obvious that the focus was to be on Naomi Watt’s moving performance. (As it rightfully should.) You felt her fear, pain, anger and hopelessness. By the end, you feel as emotionally drained as her character. Honestly, this is Naomi Watt’s best performance since 21 Grams, and kudos to her for taking on such a challenging project.
THE BAD: Although, I don’t have many complaints about the film, there were things I noticed the audience didn’t like, and even though I appreciated them, I could understand their complaints. About half way into the movie, the remaining family members are left to mourn after something horrible happens. For a good twenty minutes, the audience is left to watch the members grieve and slowly try to figure out a way to get help. It is a very slow moving section in the movie and it’s obvious that it’s catered to the art house crowd. I heard complaints in the audience that the section was boring; however, I found it to be the most frightening part of the movie. This is because that is exactly what would be happening in real life if this horrible situation ever happened to anybody. It may be slow, but a lot of people didn’t realize that it was put in there to add to the seemingly endless torture. Nothing scary happens during this section; however it’s the part of the movie I am deeply disturbed by.
One of the only things I disliked about this film would be the use of the breaking down of the “fourth wall.” Yes, I found that it was a powerful way to affect the audience; however it was hardly used as much as it should have been. When Paul talks to the audience, it is powerful, yet those parts are very far and few in between. Sometimes it felt too random to take seriously, and if they had used it more often and focused more on Paul, I think it could have been far more effective.
OVERALL: Like ‘Last House on the Left’ and ‘Henry: A Portrait of a Serial Killer’, ‘Funny Games’ is a traumatic, unapologetic and unrelentless punch to the gut that only truly affects you after you have viewed the film. However, unlike those two films, ‘Funny Games’ surprisingly has very little violence shown onscreen, which made me even more impressed that the film affected me as much as it did. It is not an amusing film by any means, however it is a compelling film that I think should be witnessed at least once.
After the viewing, my date was silent as we walked out the theatre. I thought he was going to swear at me and dump me right there on the spot. However, he turned to me and said, “I have never been so affected by a movie before…..Wow.” Hopefully, that is the reaction Michael Haneke was hoping for. :)
I give this movie an 8.5 out of 10.

A few weeks ago, I wrote here on TMB that Victor Salva’s third installment in his infamous ‘Jeepers Creepers’ series was likely going to feature characters from the previous films. It turns out that the rumor most likely will come true, for Gina Phillips is in talks to reprise her role as Trish from the original film and battle The Creeper one more time in ‘Jeepers Creepers 3.’
Bloody-Disgusting had a chance to speak to the underrated actress and this is what she had to say about the project:
“I will say that, I can’t talk about it, but I can say we are in talks”, the actress tells the site. “There is a script and there is work being done on it. Here’s the thing, I also produce films, when I have my producer hat on …that’s my job, and when I have my actor hat on, then that’s my job, I try not to intervene unless you have a director who wants your opinion. The great thing about Victor is that he is very collaborative. He not only wanted my input, he almost demanded it, It was always like what do you think what do you think. I trust him and I think he is a very talented writer. If things are to come together, and he wants my input… I have a lot to say!”
Hmm…my interest has peaked a little considering this news. Personally I thought the sequel needed her presence, and at one time, she was attached to actually appear in the first sequel. (The fact that she backed out, proved to me something was wrong.) It would be great to see how Trish has evolved since the first film and to see if she’s vengeful that The Creeper killed her brother. (Played by a then unknown Justin Long)
I also think Gina Phillips is a beautiful and talented actress who actually deserves more attention. So it would be great to see her on the big screen again.
Your thoughts?

The one sheet for ‘What Happens in Vegas” just hit the net. Cinematical gives us this:

Hmm….not much of a poster. Also, not to sound like a major b*tch, but I think the days are gone where you can have a poster of these two actors doing absolutely nothing and still rely on their star power to be enough advertisement for a film. I haven’t seen Ashton Kutcher in a movie for ages and the last thing I saw Cameron Diaz in was the ‘ Jimmy Kimmel f*cking Ben Affleck’ tribute on youtube. I just think it’s funny that the studio decided to put the words ‘Cameron and Ashton’ on the poster as if they were as powerful as ‘Brad and Angelina.’
Here’s a synopsis of the film from IMDB, just in case you can’t tell from the plain poster:
Set in Sin City, story revolves around two people who discover they’ve gotten married following a night of debauchery, with one of them winning a huge jackpot after playing the other’s quarter. Unhappy pair try to undermine each other and get their hands on the money — falling in love along the way.
Yeah, so I am officially NOT seeing this movie when it comes out on May 9th. What about you?

When I first started writing for media outlets four years ago, I never knew how powerful the opinions of movie fans really were. I was astonished to find out that studios fly writers out for free to interview celebrities on set visits. I was even more amazed about the ‘Open Bar’ film industry events, but the biggest thing that surprised me was that web geeks have fans. When I opened my first fan mail 4 years ago, I knew that putting my writing online was going to be fun, challenging, and a great opportunity to build my resume. It was also something I wanted to excel at.
After writing for a few years, I soon discovered the tricks of the trade. Readers of popular media outlets get to see the positive things writers get to do. We make friends, we get to travel, and we love to entertain you in the best way we know possible. However, we are human and none of us are perfect….especially movie web geeks. We all mostly share the same flaws and weird quirks that we don’t like to admit, and you will usually find us making excuses for them if they’re pointed out to us. So here are some things that you might like to know about us that we would all like to take to the grave. :P
1. WE GET STARSTRUCK
Many people seem to think that online film journalists are very professional and never lose their cool when interviewing someone known in the entertainment industry, but most times we put our game faces on for interviews. A lot of us that write are merely just humble movie geeks that have been given the chance to write for a movie website. Chances are during an interview, the main thought in web geeks heads is wondering if and how they can nonchalantly ask for a picture with the actor/actress afterwards. Actually, from personal experience I have noticed that web writers don’t usually get nervous over the A-list actors. It’s the cult/B-list actors that really get to us. Honestly, I have met a few well known actors, but when I met Greg Nicotero at a convention, I got so flustered and red in the face.
2. WE ARE PRESS WHORES
Yes, we do like seeing our names on popular search engines. However, there are 3 things we all dream of seeing our names on: Movie Posters, t.v. spots, and DVD covers. We will do anything just to get a blurb that will eventually manipulate people into seeing the movie. We might over embellish reviews for the hope that it will be looked at. (We all know there are writers out there that will even flat out lie about horrible movies just to get a good blurb.) We also know the right phrases that will make for a good blurb. We know that movies like being compared to other popular movies. (For example if you see in a review, “It’s (FILL IN THE BLANK movie) meets (FILL IN THE BLANK movie)!” it’s a pre meditated blurb.) Yup, we may deny it, but we have all done this one time or another. ;)
3. WE ARE TERRITORIAL
A lot of us sometimes forget that we are a dime a dozen in this business, and this is evident when you see how territorial some of us can get. See, most of us are just merely hardcore movie fans with an amazing mental capacity to store endless amounts of trivial movie knowledge who like to think we are “film elitists.” This usually comes out when writers from different sites come together for events or festivals. Of course, we usually spend most of the time sharing our views on the latest movie news. However, get a bunch of movie web nerds together long enough, and the conversation is bound to turn into a battle of the wits. (Or “Who’s the biggest virgin?” is what I like to call it.) The once friendly chatter turns into a vicious debate over obscure movies and at some point, someone always ends up mocking a fellow writer for not idolizing a little known cult actor who really is just a glamorized extra in horror films. Since I am a woman, I am usually challenged on my film knowledge every screening or event I go to.
4. WE LOVE THE COMMENT SECTION
As much as some of you are addicted to writing comments, we are even more addicted to reading them. After certain articles/editorials, we will use RSS feeds and constantly refresh the webpage, just to see if there is anything new. Honestly, I have been in the middle of dates or make out sessions and constantly thinking about what people are writing on the site. It doesn’t matter if the feedback is good or bad, we just want to see the number of comments go up!! It is an obsessive compulsive habit majority of us have.
5. WE ARE INSANELY COMPETITIVE!
When you write for popular media outlets, you make friends with other writers from different websites when you cover the same events, festivals and set visits. Usually you only get to see these people when you are working, so it’s really fun when you do see them. However, no one likes to admit this, but when we are covering the same events, we are EXTREMELY competitive with one another. It becomes more of a race than a job really. It’s all about who can get more photo ops, interviews, exclusives, and better coverage! We may have fun at the after parties and love catching up with one another, but believe me, as soon as we’re not around other writers, we will race to our hotels to upload videos and pictures, and write our articles in the hopes that our pieces are the FIRST thing you see in the Google search engine (a.k.a. all websites’ best friend) for whatever event we are covering.
6. WE DO CARE WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT US
Believe it or not, your opinions really do matter to us. (Yup, we are all like Mark Wahlberg from ‘The Big Hit’) Your emails or comments can either make or break our day. Sure, some of us start controversy in our articles, but we do want to be liked. (Even if we go out of way to make that nearly impossible. :P) For every ten people who read our articles, we know that there is always going to be at least one person who doesn’t like or down right HATES what we have to say. Sometimes the negative emails or comments are so completely irrational and over the top, it’s hard to be offended by them. (Actually for those ones we print out for our friends to laugh at)
However, even though we have built a thick skin, there are some negative remarks that do get under it. Sometimes they will put us in a sour mood all day. ( After all,no one likes being called a douche for liking a certain movie!) However, the positive feedback is what drives us to keep writing. It puts a smile on our faces to know that we put a smile on yours. (As corny as that sounds!)
So, there are a few more secrets that I’m leaving out. (I can’t let you know everything, because I will be banned from writing on any website ever again!) Please know that even though we all have negative or embarrassing qualities, we do our best to entertain and inform you guys the best way we know how, and that’s what truly counts! :) Our jobs may not be as glamorous as they may seem, however I love my job and my fellow web writer friends, and I wouldn’t want to change a single thing about us. :) (Well…maybe a couple of things! :P)

The trailer for the most hyped up Straight to DVD sequel of all time is finally upon us! MTV just premiered the trailer for ‘The Lost Boys:The Tribe and if you click HERE you can watch it for yourself.
The computer I’m working on can not access the site for some reason, (BOO!) but that doesn’t mean you guys should miss out too.
So click HERE and tell me all the gory and bloody details! Do the Frog Brothers kick ass? Does Corey Haim look out of place? Is it going to bite the big one or does it look like it could be an over the top cheesy good time? I’m a huge fan of the first film, (in fact I know it by heart) and although I think a DTV sequel to this film is a bad idea, I can’t help being curious about this either!
Watch and discuss as soon as you can!!

I have been waiting eagerly for ‘The Strangers’, since I first saw the yellow band teaser trailer for this film last summer. The release date for the movie kept getting pushed back and horror fans like myself were losing all hope. Thankfully, the film was set a final release date only a couple of months away.
The horror film is about a couple (Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman) who have the most terrifying night of their lives as they are being terrorized by three unknown masked assailants in their cottage.
If you have watched the French horror film, Ils (‘Them in English) you will notice very striking similarities. (In fact the film looks like an unofficial remake of ‘Ils’ to be quite honest)
However, I highly recommend you head over to Yahoo!Movies to check out the full length trailer for this bound to frightening horror film.
‘The Strangers’ is due out in theatres May 30th.

A new photo of the upcoming remake, ‘The Wolfman,‘ which stars Benicio Del Toro, Emily Blunt, Hugo Weaving, and Anthony Hopkins has surfaced on the web, and let’s just say this picture is truly worth a thousand words.
Slashfilm gives us this picture:

Hmm…is this Benico after he’s been attacked by the wolf or has he already turned and attacked a helpless victim? Either way, this movie looks like it will be on the bloody side, and that’s all right with me!
Just I hope they decide to go the “Rick Baker” route with the werewolf transformation instead of the overly used CGI route. I think ‘Bad Moon’ was the last time I saw a truly scary werewolf onscreen.
So what are your thoughts, movie fiends? Do you think ‘The Wolfman’ is going to surpass your expectations?

If you were a fan of last year’s ‘Grindhouse,’ you were probably upset that they had split up both films, ‘Planet Terror’ and ‘Death Proof’ in two separate DVDS. Some of you who don’t live in North America didn’t even get to see both versions together with the wonderful fake trailers Eli Roth, Edgar Wright, and Rob Zombie prepared for the intermission. (At least the ‘Planet Terror’ DVD came with the awesome ‘Machete’ trailer.)
However, one of my good friends Jay had told me about an uncut version of ‘Grindhouse’ being played on The Movie Network in Canada.
Jay of The Horror Section gives us this news:
Later on, bunkered in against the snowstorm (the latest of many this winter for the Golden Horseshoe, please make it stop!) I figured, what the hell I’ll flip it on. Of course, because Planet Terror is so awesome, I end up watching the whole thing and damned if the Zombie, Wright and Roth faux trailers didn’t come on afterwards. I was absolutely flabbergasted. There are so many things that don’t compute here.
First, why, if there is no DVD of this version, is it popping up on TMN of all places? I mean, where would they have even acquired it?
I also checked to see if this news was indeed true and, alas it was. Jay raises a great question too. If there was an uncut version, why the f*ck wasn’t it released last year? It makes me mad that fans had to buy separate versions and some hard core fans are ready to spend a bundle on the upcoming Japanese six disc version, when all we had to do was wait for it to come on TMN. (Not even Pay Per View got this version!)
So ‘Grindhouse’ fans, I tell you to save your money and get your DVRs ready! Tune into TMN(if you live in Canada or make some Canadian friends quick) and watch ‘Grindhouse’ in its full entirety. (It’s bound to be on TMN on Demand.)

Yes, you read that headline right. However, are you really that f*cking surprised?
Shocktillyoudrop.com gives us this exclusive news:
An anonymous source over at 20th Century Fox got in touch with us over the weekend to relay the news another Aliens vs. Predator sequel is a “certainty” at this point. If you recall, the brothers Strause – who helmed the Christmas release Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem – stated Fox was going to take a “wait-and-see” approach to a third chapter, furthermore, that the story would have to continue in space.
Really? Really? Is a sequel to this really f*cking necessary? I think sequels are society’s kryptonite. I truly do. We all know most sequels are inferior and will most likely suck, but we can’t help it. It’s funny how we fully know a sequel is going to be crap, yet we go see it anyways just for curiousity’s sake. (Hence why studios keep making them!)
What can I say? Am I angry about this news? Nah. I just won’t see it. Certainly, there must be some people who are excited to see this movie, because the second film wouldn’t have made so much money if nobody wanted to see it.
So who really cares to see another ‘Aliens vs Predator’ sequel? Make yourselves known!

New York Times recently had a set visit article in their paper about the highly anticipated film, ‘The Dark Knight.’
Here is a tiny excerpt from the paper as well as some great looking stills:
But it’s true: “The Dark Knight,” which will be released on July 18, is jammed with characters, plot and action. It picks up where “Batman Begins” left off, with Mr. Oldman’s police lieutenant, Jim Gordon, warning about the perils of escalation: that Batman’s extreme measures could invite a like response from the criminal element. And sure enough, a deadly new villain, the Joker, emerges to wreak havoc.

These look like some fine stills, but nothing really shock worthy. (If they had Two-Face pictures, then I would be surprised.)
However, the article is not spoiler friendly. (which is why I did not use more quotes from the piece.) Click HERE to read Christopher Nolan’s view on the film, his thoughts on Heath Ledger’s untimely death, and some spoiler plot details.

Sam Raimi’s upcoming horror film, ‘Drag Me to Hell’ has just cast up and coming actor, Justin Long to play a supporting role.
Moviehole.net gives us these details:
Raimi and his brother Ivan penned the screenplay, a morality tale about the unwitting recipient of a supernatural curse. Long will play the boyfriend of Lohman’s character.
I think this is a smart move for Justin Long. It will be good for him to be cast in a non comedy for once, or he might end up like once versatile actors,Vince Vaughn or John C. Reilly.
Justin Long first caught my eye from his performance as Darry in ‘Jeepers Creepers.’ A lot of my friends seem to forget that he was in that movie, and it sucks that they do, because that was actually one of his best performances ironically enough.
‘Drag Me to Hell’ begins filming on March 31st.

Now this is a fantastic poster! Comingsoon.net got the new one sheet poster for the upcoming ‘Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull.’ This is very good work from renowned artist, Drew Struzan.

I like this poster better just for the new hints we get about the movie. We see that the crystal skull is something paranormal. (Comingsoon.net points out that in the trailer, you can see a shot of a crate marked, ‘Roswell New Mexico 1947.”) Also, we can see that in the far right corner, Indy will have to once again face his biggest fear. lol
What do you think of this new poster?

Beyonce Knowles, Ali Larter, and up and coming actor Idris Elba have all signed onto to star in the ‘Fatal Attraction’-esque thriller, ‘Obsessed.’ The film is being produced by Screen Gems.
Variety gives us more details:
In “Obsessed,” Elba will play an asset manager who has a knockout wife (Knowles) and thriving career until a temp office worker (Larter) begins stalking him.
Wow…Beyonce Knowles is doing a movie where she’s not expected to sing? Wow, I’m shocked. I was sure she was going to become the female ‘Elvis’ in movies. Honestly, I’m actually a little interested in hearing more about this project. Ali Larter has displayed her versaility in ‘Heroes.’ After seeing her portray the evil ‘Jessica,’ I am more than confident that she will play the perfect villain in this movie.
I’m also becoming a big fan of the handsome Idris Elba and happy to see he’s getting more attention. However, I hope no one sees him in the Prom Night remake. (which is being produced by Screen Gems, ironically enough) The trailer alone lets me know this will be a movie he will want to hide on his filmography.
So what do think? Will you see ‘Obsessed?’

The third film has not yet even hit the big screen and there is already talks about a spin off movie following the grown up Alex O’Connor character played by Australian actor, Luke Ford.
Moviehole.net gives us this excerpt from an interview with Ford for ‘The Herald Sun’:
“There was talk at one point they might do a spin off series with Alex O’Connell depending on the success of this film”, said Ford, adding that “… they’re picking me up to be in the franchise, not necessarily taking over it. I’d definitely like to be part of that series if they ask me again”.
I hope that what the rumor is…..TALK. Does anybody at ‘Universal’ recall the colossal mess ‘The Mummy Returns’ spin-off, ‘The Scorpion King’ was? That alone should have scared the studio to not even consider a spin-off! Also, is anybody truly excited about the upcoming sequel anyways?
For years, I was probably the first one to campaign for another sequel, but without Rachel Weisz (how they thought Maria Bello would be a good re-cast is beyond me) or the incredibly good looking Oded Fehr as Ardeth Bay, this movie has lost all credibility to me.
I was not a fan of the Alex O’Connor character in the second installment, and I don’t think I will like his grown up character in the third installment either. After this one, I hope they leave this franchise alone!
