I have to agree that Eddie Murphy hasn’t hit one out of the park lately. Even though he seems more inclined to do family friendly films, there is no reason they cannot be big hits.

Unless he plans not to be in them.

However this one doesn’t look so bad. I actually don’t mind the neglected child/workaholic dad story with a supernatural twist that brings them together. Its not the most original concept in the world, but I don’t think its been beaten to death and still stands a chance at a happy ending.

I still hold a glimmer of hope that we will see Eddie Murphy shine again.

I actually want to see this now. Originally I wasn’t distracted by it at all, but now it has me paying attention.

But we are getting one anyways and it looks like fun! And while they are pushing the suspension of disbelief we get to go on a thrill ride of silliness and action packed non-stop kickassery … and Amy Smart. The full Trailer has gone live online, so feast your eyes kiddies!

The inhabitants of Planet 51 live in fear of alien invasion. Their paranoia is realized when an astronaut arrives from Earth. Befriended by a young resident, he has to avoid capture in order to recover his spaceship and try to return home.

I really like the feel of this. It certainly offers a parallel to some other alien invasion stories but this time it shifts the focus on “the alien” because he is the human here.

The 50s style that the alien world takes on is rich with tributes to a simpler time and a slice of Americana, while still offering nods to sci-fi classics. Like the astronaut’s lofting “space walk” and notice the dog? That’s a pretty distinct skull pattern there!

The humour in this looks fun, and the premise is old but new again. I am looking forward to seeing what comes of this!

This trailer looks like the new film will promise some kickass action and some hot cars. Perfect. That is all I can hope for. This franchise started great, petered, then made a detour in a chapter I was surprised to like, and now its time to return to the origins with the original cast.

Seems that this is just one of those films that will appeal to its own little demographic. I personally don’t have a lot of interest in historical military dramas, so I have my own reasons not to see it.

But perhaps if they can grab your attention in six minutes you might change your mind.

This does qualify under TMB’s 4 Rules Before Making a Remake, so I have no problem with this.

Want to see what the original was like? This trailer wouldn’t make me want to see it, but its amusing to watch how stuff was advertised 36 years ago.

I found this trailer for a movie out now on Bluray and DVD and it looked pretty cute, so I am going to share it with the International Friends:

When I heard Kruek was going to play Chun-Li, I figured the look was right and shes a decent enough actress to play the part. And this trailer doesn’t look too bad (even if I dont understand most of what they are saying). The only complaint I have is that in a movie called the Legend of Chun-Li, we might actually see… I dont know… MORE CHUN-LI????

I actually have a lot of hope for this movie. It looks like a great approach to the Streetfighter movies. There is just FAR too many characters in this franchise to do a movie with all of them in it. Perhaps a series of movies that tells the individual story of some of the more popular characters, then involve some of the minor characters who have storyline that relates to that character.

And frankly ANYTHING would be better than the last attempt at live action Streetfighter.
