New Bitch Slap Trailer

Trailers - by John - November 17, 2008 - 11:52 America/Montreal - 30 Comments

For the purposes of full disclosure, let me admit right up front that I am 100% completely biased in my opinion when it comes to the upcoming movie “Bitch Slap“. Not because I’m friends with a couple of the people in it (you can be friends with someone and still have no vested interest in a movie), but rather because 2 of the lead women (The beautiful duo of Julia Voth and Erin Cummings) are working with me in getting my movie made. So in this circumstance, I do have a vested interest in the movie and its success.

With that being admitted, regular Movie Blog readers will know that I was excited about this fun looking flick long before I ever met the cast at comic con. The first little teaser trailer made it look like it would be delicious guilty fun… and this NEW trailer just reenforces that! Clearly no Oscar nominations in the future for Bitch Slap… but I sure as hell can’t wait to see this damn thing and I was grinning from ear to ear the whole time I watched this trailer. This movie clearly won’t be for everyone… but it sure is for me.

New Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince Trailer

Trailers - by John - October 27, 2008 - 01:22 America/Montreal - 34 Comments

There is a new Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince trailer out on the interweb! Now I know most hard core Potter fans are still quite upset with Warner Bros for pushing back their release date of the movie so far, but there also seems to be an acceptance of it now (to a degree) and perhaps this trailer will quell some of the anti-potter sentiment out there, because I’ve got to tell you, as a non-potter fan, I think this trailer is pretty slick.

So check out the new Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince trailer here:

Underworld 3 Trailer

News Chat, Trailers - by John - October 24, 2008 - 01:06 America/Montreal - 42 Comments

Almost 6 months ago I was treated to seeing the first “unofficial” trailer for the new Underworld movie. I freaked completely out at how good it was. Now the official Underworld 3 trailer is out… and while it’s not quite as good as the version I saw before, it is still DAMN FREAKING SWEET! This is what the Underworld franchise should have been from the very beginning. Oh yeah… adding one of the hottest women on the planet, Rhona Mitra, doesn’t hurt either.

Let The Right One In Red Band Trailer

Trailers - by John - October 16, 2008 - 10:13 America/Montreal - 16 Comments

The other day I wrote about how excited I am to see this new horror flick called “Let The Right One In” that looks just fantastic, and several of my online colleagues have been raving about.

Anyway, a new Red Band trailer (which actually isn’t really all that “red band” if you ask me) has been released and has just stoked my anticipation for seeing this next week even more. Check it out:

The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button Trailer

Trailers - by John - September 29, 2008 - 10:42 America/Montreal - 16 Comments

Brad Pitt is one of the best actors out there today who has never won an academy award… and it looks like he’s taking the gloves off for The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, because from the looks of this trailer it seems he’s making a big run at one this year. Holy crap this movie looks amazing. Visually breath taking, the story is unique and the cast is beyond wonderful.

For those of you who may not yet know, The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button is about a man (Pitt) who ages in reverse. He is born as an old man and slowly grows younger as he “ages”. Take a look.

The Spirit Trailer #2

Trailers - by John - September 29, 2008 - 01:13 America/Montreal - 56 Comments

Just when I was starting to think “The Spirit” couldn’t possibly look any worse than it already does, along comes the new trailer that have sunk my expectations about 3 floors below the basement. What is starting to materialize is what many of us have suspected all along… Frank Miller shouldn’t be directing. At least not a movie of this scale and at least not yet. Behold more of the evidence.

The trailer was already abysmal, and then came that damn line “I’m gonna kill you all kinds of dead” and I almost laughed out loud (not in the good way either). This flick looks like it’s going to suck on a Jenna Jameson level.

The Watchmen Trailer

Trailers - by John - July 17, 2008 - 13:27 America/Montreal - 48 Comments

The Watchmen trailer is now up and online… and hot damn does it ever look good! Check it out:

I’ve been kind of skeptical that they could turn this graphic novel into a film… but this trailer does a lot to make me feel better about its prospects. Keep in mind it’s just a trailer, but it certainly is a step in the right direction. Excuse me… I have to go watch it again now.

The Spirit Trailer

Trailers - by John - July 17, 2008 - 12:53 America/Montreal - 31 Comments

The studio has released the first official version of The Spirit trailer. Check it out here:

Ok… what was that?!?! Is it just me or could you actually see the glue holding on Samuel L Jackson’s sideburns? I know this is Frank Miller’s first actually directing gig… but wow… that was a mess. From day 1 I said I had a bad feeling about this movie… and this trailer just enforces that.

HOWEVER… I will say the trailer had its moments. “Just shut up and bleed” was a great line. What did you guys think of it?

Terminator Salvation Trailer

Trailers - by John - July 16, 2008 - 15:05 America/Montreal - 56 Comments

The first Terminator Salvation trailer has hit the web. Don’t hold your breath to see much robotic blood lusting… the movie is still a year away and lots of CGI work hasn’t even started yet. But personally I really like the trailer. Check it out

So what do you think of the Terminator Salvation Trailer? Like the feel of it? Think Bale will make a good John Conor? Why or why not?

Max Payne Trailer

Trailers - by John - July 10, 2008 - 03:24 America/Montreal - 71 Comments

The first Max Payne trailer has hit the web. I gotta say I’m not impressed so far. Looks more like the deformed step brother of Constantine than the video game I played. Your thoughts?

New Trailer for The Mummy 3

Trailers - by John - June 20, 2008 - 09:01 America/Montreal - 16 Comments

I saw this play in front of The Incredible Hulk and both Doug and I agreed it looked excellent. Still looks good on the web. The Mummy 3 is shaping up to be a fun (even if forgettable) little addition to the summer movie line up. Yeah, I’m looking forward to it.

Tropic Thunder Restricted Trailer

Trailers - by John - May 19, 2008 - 15:02 America/Montreal - 23 Comments

You know, Tropic Thunder hasn’t really been exciting me (aside from all the stuff with Robert Downey Jr. in it which has been all gold). Still, for some reason I’m looking forward to seeing it. This new red band trailer certainly helps! What do you think of it?

Incredible Hulk Theatrical Trailer

Trailers - by John - April 30, 2008 - 12:40 America/Montreal - 35 Comments

The new Incredible Hulk Theatrical trailer has just hit the net. I just love the look of this thing!

If you’d like to see the larger HD version of the trailer you can go here

My Best Friend’s Girl Trailer

Trailers - by John - April 17, 2008 - 11:14 America/Montreal - 13 Comments

Oh my dear sweet merciful crap. There’s a My Best Friend’s Girl trailer on the net now, and I have to lay on my stomach while typing this because watching it made my ass hurt too much to sit. What a disaster of a movie waiting to happen.

So what do you get when you put in a lead (Dane Cooke) who has no business being in film whatsoever, mixed with an actress who can’t actually act (Kate Hudson) and then just for fun throw in a one hit wonder (Jason Biggs) who will never be anything other than that “American Pie guy”? Well, you get “My Best Friend’s Girl”. Behold the mess:

Zombie Stripper Trailer

Trailers - by John - April 11, 2008 - 09:00 America/Montreal - 7 Comments

Well yeeehaaaawww! It’s the Zombie Strippers! As some of you know, I had a chance to see Zombie Strippers last week and I can tell you that as dumb as it is, it does give you plenty of Zombies, plenty of Strippers stripping, and even a couple of decent laughs along the way. Would I call it a “good” movie? No. But the film is what it is. If nothing else, it is the greatest title in the history of cinema. For now, check out the Zombie Strippers trailer.

New Hellboy 2 Trailer

Trailers - by John - April 3, 2008 - 19:44 America/Montreal - 16 Comments

Aside from the upcoming Incredible Hulk film, Hellboy 2 is a very overlooked movie that I think is going to surprise a lot of people. I LOVED the first Hellboy film and there is no reason to suspect Guillermo del Toro (the director) won’t bring the same, if not more brilliance to this one. Check it out:

Meet Dave Trailer

Trailers - by John - March 25, 2008 - 10:04 America/Montreal - 26 Comments

Oh my dear sweet lord. I saw the “Meet Dave” trailer (Eddie Murphy’s new disaster in the making that is also directed by the guy who directed him in Norbit) before the Drillbit Taylor screening the other day. My jaw hit the floor at how stupid this thing looks. Anyway, the trailer is now online. See it for yourself. Do you see potential in this?

Poultrygeist Trailer

Trailers - by John - March 24, 2008 - 10:54 America/Montreal - 11 Comments

My dear sweet heavens. The studio folks sent me this new trailer for Lloyd Kaufman’s “Poultrygesit: Night of the Chicken Dead“. This film played at the Toronto After Dark film festival this past October… and everyone who saw it said they were totally disgusted (in a good way) by it. Check it out… but be warned… this trailer is not for the faint of heart!

As a side note, don’t forget that Troma founder and Poultrygeist director Lloyd Kaufman is scheduled to be our guest on the Uncut LIVE show with us next Wednesday, April 2nd.

Righteous Kill Trailer

Trailers - by John - March 8, 2008 - 06:40 America/Montreal - 25 Comments

Righteous-Kill-Trailer-3There is a new Righteous Kill teaser trailer out. For those of you who may not know, Righteous Kill is the long awaited film with Al Pacino and Robert De Niro finally in a movie together (Heat doesn’t count since they only really had 1 scene together and were never on screen together in Godfather 2).

Any film fan should be looking forward to this. Personally, my anticipation took a big hit when the producers of this movie (some of the same people behind Inspector Gadget, Jessica Simplson’s Blonde Ambition and Nicolas Cage version of Wicker Man) decided to put 50 Cent in the film. If they have that much lack of common sense, then I have very little hope in the rest of the movie.

So here is the Righteous Kill trailer. Honestly, even if you took out 50 Cent from the trailer, its still not that good. If it weren’t for the names Pacion and De Niro, I wouldn’t even give this film a second thought. Check it out and tell us what you think:

The Foot Fist Way Trailer

Trailers - by John - March 5, 2008 - 11:22 America/Montreal - 8 Comments

Hot fricken damn! The Foot Fist Way trailer (it’s a Red Band one, so be warned) is now up online and it looks beyond hilarious. I didn’t even hear of this movie until I got invited to a screening of it tomorrow night… to be honest, from reading about it I didn’t think it was going to be all that good, but now that I’ve seen this trailer, I’m sold.
