Ok, I know most of you are rolling your eyes right now, but bare with me here. While Two Weeks Notice does carry just about every cliché you can name about a romantic comedy (wealthy good looking business man meets brilliant good looking social minded woman who is suspicious about people with money), the film falls back to rely on it’s humor rather than it’s romance… and it works!
Huge Grant is just hilarious in this flick. His comedic timing has become the best I’ve seen from a British actor since John Cleese. I know that sounds unbelievable, but his treatment of the dialogue was perfect (even when the dialogue wasn’t much to work with).
This isn’t a great overall movie, but it is a really good comedy. If you’re in the mood for some decent chuckles then you can’t go wrong picking this one up tonight. There are at least 7 or 8 full blown laugh out loud moments if you pay attention and listen closely to what might sound like unimportant lines. Give it a shot. The best part is that your girlfriend will think you got it for her. Bonus points!
