Ok it’s official. I’m excited about seeing Van Helsing. I’m not saying the trailer is fantastic, but come on! Who doesn’t want to see Wolverine√¢‚Ǩ¬¶ er√¢‚Ǩ¬¶ I mean Hugh Jackman fighting Dracula, the Wolfman AND Frankenstein’s Monster? Ever since the first X-Man flick I’ve become a Jackman fan. I think I’ve liked every film he’s been in and thought he’s held his own VERY well while staring alongside some pretty big names (Swordfish, X-Men 1 & 2, Kate and Leopold, Someone Like You).
And now I shall expose my man parts. Co-staring in this film with Jackman is the stunningly attractive Kate Beckinsale, who was the very best thing going for Underworld. But instead of being a Vampire hunting Werewolves, this time she’s hunting Vampires and Werewolves. I think she’ll do well.
I’m not going to romanticize this film. I know it’s not going to win any Oscars or be “deep”. But it looks like a fun afternoon at the movies, which is all I’m asking it to do for me.

Assisting him once he gets there is Anna (Beckinsale), the heir of a long-running family committed to hunting down and destroying Dracula. (Anaya, Colloca and Maran play Dracula’s brides; Wenham plays a friar, Carl, who escorts Van Helsing through the dangerous wilderness)
