Jesus is tougher than 2 cops and a horse

Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ just keeps steam rolling along. It made $51 million at the box office on it’s second weekend. Honestly, I was telling Day-Vuh the other day that I can’t remember the last time a film made $50 million on it’s second weekend. I continue to be amazed by how well this film is doing. What makes it even more impressive it that 2 highly marketed films (Starsky and Hutch, Hidalgo) opened up this weekend, and The Passion made more money than the 2 of them put together.

As of right now, The Passion has grossed over $215 million, IN JUST 2 WEEKS. However, I think The Passion will surrender it’s #1 position next week to Johnny Depp’s new film The Secret Window. Depp is extremely hot right now and the film looks good. At the same time, I think Agent Cody Banks 2 and Spartan will fall into the #3 and #4 position on the list under The Passion. We’ll have to wait and see.
