Asian martial arts star Jet Li has squashed rumors of his impending retirement. Stories had surfaced indicating Li was intending to quit film work to study Buddhism full time. Though he is a devout Buddhist Li says the retirment rumors are simply unfounded and confirmed that he is in talks to play Kato in Kevin Smith’s upcoming Green Hornet film – while cautioning not to read too much into that since the talks have been going on for about five years now – and that he would indeed consider starring in a Crouching Tiger prequel if such a thing were ever to come to pass. He also took the opportunity to point out that he is a pacifist who just happens to be very, very good at beating people up.
