The Toronto Film Festival has added Matinee Gala presentations to this year’s edition of the festival with two films that “appeal to a wide range of Festivalgoers” – i.e. are family friendly without alienating adults – being added to the slate of Gala presentations as matinee presentations. This brings the total number of Galas at this year’s festival up to twenty. The first ever Matinee Gala will be Dreamworks’ Shark Tale. I’m not particularly looking forward to this film, but at least the slot didn’t go to a Disney production.
