Miike’s One Missed Call Hits DVD Next Week

Takashi Miike’s One Missed Call is being released as a two DVD set in Korea September 7th and, yes, the Korean release does include subtitles. You can check out screen shots, the trailer and DVD specs at the AsianDB here.

One Missed Call is something of an anomaly in the Miike canon: a studio funded, decently high budget film targetted at mainstream horror fans. By all accounts this is a more conventional film than we’ve come to expect from Miike but apprently the tension still runs nice and high. I’ll be finding out for myself soon enough …

I wouldn’t actually recommend buying this through that link up above, by the way. AsianDB has a very well deserved reputation for being overpriced. I’ve only linked to their entry because they’re currently the only major retailer listing the release … give the others a day or two to catch up and we’ll post a better purchasing link …
