Kevin Spacey rules. A decent actor can look brilliant when in a great movie. But it takes someone really special to look great in a decent or bad film. Spacey has done both on a consistent basis. He elevates great movies like Se7en, L.A. Confidential, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, American Beauty, The Shipping News and The Usual Suspects. He also gives something worth talking about in not-so-great flicks like The Negotiator, Pay It Forward, K-PAX, and The Life of David Gale.
Now he’s starring in his Hollywood directorial debut Beyond The Sea. One synopsis for the film summarizes it like this:
For BOBBY DARIN (Kevin Spacey), performing was his life. It kept his heart beating. He came alive onstage, even when he was near collapse offstage. In BEYOND THE SEA, Bobby tells his own story.
