Anthony Hopkins is one of those actors that brings a measure of instant credibility to almost any movie he’s attached to (but even he couldn’t save Bad Company). Now Film Stew is letting us in on this:
Anthony Hopkins will be reteaming with his The Bounty helmer Roger Donaldson for the drama The World’s Fastest Indian, which began shooting last week. The project will shoot in Salt Lake City and New Zealand and is being financed by Tokyo-based OLC/Rights Entertainment, the New Zealand Film Production Fund and the New Zealand Film Commission in association with 3 Dogs and a Pony with a budget around $25 million.
Fastest Indian will star Hopkins as legendary motorcycle biker Burt Munro. Munro made modifications to his 1920 Indian Scout motorcycle and ventured off on a trip across the world to fulfill his goal of racing at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, where he ended up setting a new land speed record.
Sounds good to me. You know, for a guy who says he doesn’t even enjoy acting all that much, Hopkins sure makes it look easy.
