Pang Brothers directing in Hollywood

TheEyePoster.jpgBeing a big fan of Far Eastern cinema, Horror in particular, I’m very excited when a new project comes along that promises to utilise some of its talent. So great news from Fangoria that the Pang brothers are coming West.

Danny and Oxide Pang, responsible for The Eye – An excellent movie despite it’s lacklustre ending – are earmarked for a project from Ghost House.

Ghost House Pictures is the brainchild of Sam Riami and Rob Tapert, delivering a host of Horrors for general release. Along with the recent The Grudge, they are also working on Dibbuk Box (Stephen Susco writing, writer of The Grudge) and 30 Days of Night (Stuart Beattie writing, writer of Collateral).

What caught my eye though was news of the Beattie written script in production at Ghost House for the Pang brothers. I’ve just found out the title too, it’s on IMDB, and called Scarecrow.

Their style is fast, cool and very slick. Really knowing how to make all aspects of film making work for them, camera, lighting, etc. The brilliant use of focus in The Eye adds fathoms of atmosphere to the creep out sequences.

Very excited about this one, and if you haven’t seen The Eye, go see it now.
