Filming for Peter Jackson’s new film King King wrapped up about 3 weeks ago, but I guess Peter never thought it was actually done until a proper party was thrown. The good folks at Monsters and Critics offer us this:
The “Lord of the Rings” director threw a carnival like celebration at the 1930’s New York set of the film, inviting over 1000 of the cast and crew involved in the production. According to local newspaper the Dominion Post stars Adrien Brody and Jack Black were also present, though Naomi Watts was absent due to promotional work with her latest movie “The Ring Two.”
The party included children’s fairground rides, fancy dress and free bananas…lots of the later according to local newspapers.
As I recall on The Return of the King DVD, the cast and crew was thrown a similar party at the conclusion of filming.
It’s weird thinking that King Kong will be out in just 9 months. It feels like the project was just announced yesterday.
