I love this site for game reviews, they are the most honest you’ll ever find. Why am I talking about games? Well you know I’ve talked before about the blurring line between games and movies, and I think this game is probably one of the most obvious games that is doing this is The Matrix Online.
The game allows you to enter as a character who has taken a red pill and is trying to maintain the peace between humans and the computer world. Which quite frankly baffles me. Why would the humans let other humans be kept by the machines and used as battries. Anyway…
The story is that they have been hiring actors to take some of the lead influential roles to control the storyline and organise large events.
The “specialised Role Playing Live Events Team” will give players the chance interact with characters from the films…
The team will also be responsible for engineering large scale story events, such as rallies, riots and even street parties. They’ll support events organised by players too, and will take part in high-profile missions and contests.
Mix this with the previous news that the major characters from the trilogy will be used throughout, and it really is a step closer to being in the movie.
Testing is ongoing and US release is in a few weeks, with the European release the start of next month. This will really tell us how close the experience is.
