Looks like Christian Slater is going to continue working in Britain for the foreseeable future, working on stage and now even radio. Slater is set to appear in a radio series of The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy, the Guardian have the story:
…will play John Watson, aka Wonko the Sane. The new series, which begins on May 3, are adapted from Douglas Adams’s final two books in the franchise, Goodbye And Thanks For All The Fish and Mostly Harmless.
Slater is another really good actor who is so badly under used and miscast, that was until he came to the stage and started concentrating on more complex character based roles, for instance his work in the stage version of One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest. This adds another good role to his profile, and I really do hope we see him build himself up to some decent movie roles. Perhaps though, that’s not where he wants to be.
