Guy Ritchie cuts Madonna from Revolver

MadonnaRitchie.jpgGuy Ritchie has some big man bags because it seems as though he’s cut Madonna out of his new movie Revolver. Well done Ritchie, you might just have saved the movie…well…

The music star flew to England’s Isle of Man last November to film her appearance in Guy Ritchie’s “Revolver” – but has failed to make the final edit. A source says, “Perhaps Guy did not want Madonna’s kiss of death on his latest movie, or perhaps he just decided the scene wasn’t quite right, but either way Madonna does not make the final cut…She did fly to the Isle of Man and spent a lot of time on the set.”

That from Dark Horizons, however Todd down at Twitch has an excellent reminder of how much it took to persuade him.

…it took the massive failure of Swept Away and distributors world wide flat out refusing to touch Revolver…but Guy Ritchie has finally realized that casting Madonna in his films is the kiss of death. Thus, no more Madonna in Revolver. Now will somebody just go ahead and put this out, please? Statham and Liotta on screen together is far too good to pass up …

Well said Todd. Totally agree. Still, you think Ritchie’s going to get a few long cold silences for the next few months.

What do you think, is it a good move to dump Madonna, or has she been given a raw deal to date? I know where I’m putting my money on! Can this movie be saved just by cutting Madonna?
