Nicolas Cage leads Electric God

nicolas_cage_5.jpgI read the title for this story Nicolas Cage is an Electric God and thought instantly we were in comic book land, was he going to play that Electro character guy, no, surely not he couldn’t make it to a movie on his own. Then I read the story through Coming Soon and was totally wrong.

Nicolas Cage will star in Electric God for director Mark Pellington, says Variety.

David Murray adapted the script from the novel by Catherine Ryan Hyde(Pay It Forward).

The story concerns a man who lives an isolated life in hopes of controlling his violent temper but finds redemption when forced to reach out to others.

A good return to some serious work for Cage and hopefully more successful than some previous roles. Personally when I think of cage now I think of his performance in 8MM, story aside that man’s performance and range through that film is superb. Struggling with so many inner demons and still managing to break through it all. I loved that performance.

Now I know there’s going to be a lot of contention on that one. You’re all surely going to say I’m wrong and choose earlier works…
