Orlando Bloom quashes rumours of young Bond

OrlandoBloom.jpgIt’s difficult sometimes to bring breaking news and ensure it’s right without spending a lot of time trying to verify it, and then if it’s denied that doesn’t even suggest that it might not be true. So it’s no surprise that sometimes the media gets it wrong, but then it’s no great surprise when all the disinformation is flying about on the whole Bond subject.

Canoe have the official word from Orlando Bloom on the whole alleged young Bond thing:

British papers recently reported the Pirates of the Caribbean star was in negotiations to play a young James Bond in a series of films about the early years before Bond became 007.

“They even had me quoted as saying I was in negotiations. My cousin called to say how distraught everyone was to have to read it in the papers,” says Bloom…”I can assure you that I have never heard anything about such a project or an offer of any kind to play Bond from any member of my management team.

“It’s just something someone somewhere made up and posted it on the Internet.”

Sure, nothing to do with the Studio, rumour and trying to keep the faintest light of Bond alive in peoples minds, even if it is annoying them to hell.
