Colin Firth in The Meat Trade

ColinFirth.jpgI’m quite excited about this movie, especially as the production company 4Way Pictures is set to start filming in Edinburgh next summer.

After news of Robert Carlyle joining the cast, Rope of Silicon carry the news that Colin Firth has also joined up.

Variety describes the flick as the following:
Set in Edinburgh, it’s a contemporary reworking of the crimes of the 19th century bodysnatchers Burke and Hare.

This notorious duo made a living robbing graves to provide doctors with cadavers for experimentation. When the supply of corpses dried up, they started killing tramps.

Yeah! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Edinburgh is a superb city to film in, not only because it makes sense since the story originates from here, but also that it’s steeped in history and lore, and many, many more exciting stories that are dying to be made into movies.
