I like Keri Russell. I’ve said this before on here, but I find her cute, very charming and a more than competent actress to boot. No, I wasn’t much of a fan of Felicity, but that doesn’t mean that I didn’t think she was good in her role on the show.
Russell’s career seems to be picking up steam these days (since it seemed totally dead for a while). She was recently in the surprisingly good The Upside of Anger, and is currently filming the next Mission Impossible. Now it’s been revealed that she’s snagged her first lead role in a while. The good folks over at Cinema Confidential give us this:
Variety reports that Keri Russell has signed up to do “Waitress” for Michael Roiff’s Night & Day Pictures . Adrienne Shelly wrote the screenplay and will direct this romantic comedy. The movie is about a baker who is missing the perfect recipe for love.
Ok, so it sounds stupid. But hey, it’s only a one line synopsis. Let’s wait and see. I’m just glad to see Keri Russell get another shot at the limelight now that she’s in a more mature stage of her career.
