Mark Ruffalo in The Brass Ring

Ruffalo.jpgMark Ruffalo is an impressive talent who will hopefully continue to impress in The Brass Wall, a film based on the book of the same name by David Kocieniewski [via: Film Stew]. A crime thriller about an undercover cop who is investigating a murder who’s prime suspect is the son of a N.Y police official.

Phoenix Pictures is shining up The Brass Wall for Mark Ruffalo … Brass Wall will mark the third collaboration between Phoenix and Ruffalo. The actor recently wrapped All the King’s Men, which will be released in December, and he just went before cameras on the David Fincher crime drama Zodiac.

I wont get carried away with this -due to the lashing I got yesterday– but Ruffalo has made quite the impression in the busness by being an actor who has a broad range in his abilities. In the Cut not only had a great sex scene between Ruffalo and Meg Ryan, I also liked the grungy -I haven’t showered in 2 days- tough guy cop character Ruffalo showed us. In Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, he played the part of a younger geeky science guy perfectly -I related with that one- and looked significantly younger than previous parts. I also want to bring up Collateral and the slick back thin mustache guido cop. All very different and convincingly performed.

Normally another cop movie wouldn’t even get a second mention from me, but since Ruffalo is involved I will be keeping my eye on this project. There isn’t much available at this time but stay tuned Ruffalo fans, there will be more to come.
