Basic Instinct 2 Pic

BasicInstinct2Pic.jpgMy first thought when I heard that Basic Instinct 2 going into production was “Are you kidding me?”.

Don’t get me wrong, the first Basic Instinct was a pretty decent flick and has become one of those pop culture milestone projects. But come one… Sharon Stone is 47 years old now! Can she still pull off the kind of sexual power that she displayed back in 1992? If she can I’ll be impressed.

TIME magazine talked about the project a little. Here’s an excerpt:

“We like to think of this as Basic Instinct: The European Version,” says Stone, 47. “We were very, very free.” Um, how free? “Am I going to sit around and cross and uncross my legs again? Well, I guess everybody will have to pay their $10 to find out.” But don’t hold your breath for a trilogy. Says Stone: “It would have to be called Basic Instinct 3: It Depends, and they’d have to shoot it in a nursing home.”

No kidding. And my questions is… how much more “free” can you be than you were in the first Basic Instinct without making it a full blown porno flick? There was TONS of sex/nudity in the first one… they were pretty much totally uninhibited in what they could do… how much more “free” can they be?
