Roadhouse 2 update

Roadhouse.jpgMiles Chapman, the writer of Roadhouse 2, has just emailed me with some on the set information from the movie.

First off, I should say that although I wrote the original draft of the script, I had been told it had been revised a few times and that I shouldn’t be disappointed if things are “a bit different.” Knowing this I arrived in Shreveport on Monday with some trepidation.

Thankfully, I have to say that from what I saw they are going to make a totally rocking action movie. The action sequences (ten in all. Yes, ten) are being staged by J.J. Perry of “Serenity” and “The Rundown” fame and he has got it going on. Diehard fans of the original are going to be very pleasantly surprised.

Well that’s good news, when I read that first paragraph I was concerned that Miles was going to tell us it had radically changes and he wasn’t that happy with it. However, it’s good news so far.

You’ll remember though that reaction to the idea that Patrick Swayze wasn’t going to be in the sequel wasn’t exactly glowing. Check out that very post. Miles has something to tell us on that…

Speaking of the original, I know there has been some negative reaction to the news that Patrick Swayze won’t be appearing in the film. Well, all I have to say is that Will Patton and Jonathan Schaech are carrying the torch proudly. Patton plays “Nate” Dalton’s brother, and owner of the Black Pelican. Schaech is “Shane” Nate’s nephew, and both of them are shockingly good in the action scenes (along with a stunt crew that are out of this world) as well as bringing a level of acting to an action sequel that’s surprisingly high.

We’ve got a promise of more info when and if he get’s it, bear in mind his work here is done and he has to sit back and watch his script come to life in others hands. Still, he’s managed to get his first script made…who knows what’s next.
