Kung Fu Hustle Wins 2006 Asian Excellence Awards

From the good folks over at Guardian:

“Kung Fu Hustle” was named outstanding film and Daniel Dae Kim and Yunjin Kim, who star on the hit TV show “Lost,” were honored for outstanding male and female TV performance at Thursday’s 2006 Asian Excellence Awards.

“Kung Fu Hustle” beat out other nominees “Memoirs of a Geisha,” “Saving Face” and “2046.” In the female TV category, recent Golden Globes winner Sandra Oh of “Grey’s Anatomy” and Kristin Kruek of “Smallville” were nominees.

I said before that I think Kung Fu Hustle gets a little more credit than it deserves… but it was still an enjoyable flick from the master mind who gave us Shaolin Soccer. I look forward to seeing whatever Chow gives us next.

On a slightly related note…. how does Canadian beauty Kristen Kreuk get a nomination? Is she part Asian? I never noticed it before… but I guess now that I look closer at her picture… yeah this is a hard job… looking closely at Kristen Kreuk’s picture.
