Tom Cruise is reported to be attached to a up coming western project titled 3:10 to Yuma, which is a remake of the 1957 version staring Glenn Ford. To me this is good news. I enjoy a good western, and I have posted previously that this seems to be a genre which comes and goes. With Brad Pitt’s Jesse James movie on the way, this picture will have a promising follow up audience.
Regardless of Cruise’s wacky behavior and tabloid exposures, I think he’s a dynamite actor. The Last Samurai was an amazing picture from all aspects and I still question how Cruise was overlooked for an Academy award for his performance.
Freeze Dried Movies gives us the scoop on Cruise and 3:10 to Yuma.
Tom Cruise has been interested in many Sony features recently, and is reportedly favoring a remake of 1957’s Western ‘3:10 to Yuma’ according to Variety.
The script penned by Michael Brandt and Derek Haas with a rewrite by Stuart Beattie is what is said to have brought Cruise’s interest, and is favoring the role of the films villain. Attached is director James Mangold and is aiming to start filming this summer.
I am going to remain optimistic towards this movie. I have confidence in Cruise and when the cowboys aren’t making out, I can get into it.
