Holy Smokes!!! Let this be a lesson to you. Even if you have a bad movie (see my Ice Age 2 review here), if you’re a kids animated film that opens in theaters when there aren’t any other kids films available at the time… you too can become outrageously rich. Such is the case with Ice Age 2.
Ice Age 2 took in… are you ready for this… $70 Million on its opening weekend!!! Holy Crap!!!! I’m stunned. But then again, what did I expect? It’s a kids film in theaters when no other kids are at the same time. Parents desperate to take their kids to SOMETHING, all funnel to the same place, at the same time.
The only thing that disappoints me about this weekend, is that a bad film like Ice Age 2 takes in that much money… while an AMAZING film like Slither took in a HORRIBLE $3.6 million (you can see my Slither Review here). That’s sad… yet understandable to some twisted degree too.
