As a child of the 80’s, I am genetically designed to have fond memories of the original Rambo films (The first one is still by far and away the best one of the bunch). However, I’ve said here on The Movie Blog that the idea of a Rambo 4 makes me squeamish. I just don’t think anything good can come of it, and to me it reeks of desperation on Sylvester Stallone’s part to be relevant again since none of his other film projects in the last 8 years have had any success at all (and just do you know, I’m a HUGE Stallone fan).
But, like it or not Rambo 4 is on it’s way, and some of it’s plot details are starting to float around the web. The good folks over at Cinescape offer us this Rambo 4 plot outline:
It follows John Rambo who is now living a life of solitude with his wife and young daughter. When his daughter goes missing Rambo goes on a hunt to find to find her and who did it. In the story, Corporal Keating is searching for a U.S. Fugitive accussed “wrongly” of war crimes. In his search to free his name and in Rambo’s search to find/ his daughter, Rambo and the fugitive must fight together.
Ouch, smells like bad 80’s to me.
For the record, I hope I’m 100% wrong about this. I hope Sly makes a triumphant return to the big screen and shows us all again what an action star is supposed to be. I just really have my doubts. Your thoughts?
