“Breakfast Club” star Paul Gleason dies

The good folks over at the IMDB have relayed tragic news for fans of Paul Gleason. The actor, best known for his role as Principal Vernon in The Breakfast Club, has died of lung cancer. He was 67.

Gleason was a veteran character actor who starred in modern classics, including Die Hard and Trading Places. He was often cast in comedies as authority figures. In recent years, Not Another Teen Movie and Van Wilder paid homage to his Breakfast Club character by casting him in similar roles.
